What are some high paying jobs that require an associates degree or a bachelor's degree?
I am fresh off High School and I have no idea what to do career-wise. I live in El Paso, Texas and I want to make from $50,000 to $80,000 with an associates degree or bachelors. Please, your input will truly be appreciated. Thx.

I'm a nurse actually and I also work computers as a consultant. They pay very well. I write part time, that pays relatively well too. Nursing is in a critical shortage nationally. As an ADN nurse you can leave with an associate degree and generally move into about 40-50 thousand a year depending on where you work. LPNS which is a one year course usually make about 16 dollars an hour. The field is wide open and requires a lot of new graduates

Of course it depends on your area, but you can do very well in Dental Hygiene or Respiratory Therapy. You can make in that area with Associates degrees. You can do well with an R.N. which does not require a bachelor's degree. Keep in mind that these are difficult programs and are often very competitive. I know of a career college that opened a Dental Hygiene program and only accepted 25% of of the students who applied the first year they were opened. Now of course they have a waiting list.

Here is a listing of the average starting and mid-career salaries for most 4 year majors. http://www.payscale.com/best-colleges/degrees.asp The ones with the highest salaries are the ones in the most demand by employers. And the higher they pay, the harder they are. And remember this survey only covers the students who got a job in their field of study. The lower paid the job on this list, the few the number of graduates in a particular major got a job in their field. http://education.yahoo.net/articles/six_in_demand_degrees.htm?kid=12X5N The Highest Starting Salaries of 2010 http://hotjobs.yahoo.com/career-articles-the_highest_starting_salaries_of_2010-1296
