EL PASO, Texas (AP) - Thousands of high school students clogged downtown streets Friday during a third day of protests against immigration proposals that call for a crackdown on illegal immigrants. Chanting "Viva Mexico!" and waving Mexican flags, the students converged on a downtown El Paso plaza to join a rally of several hundred others in honor of Cesar Chavez Day. Boisterous teenagers, followed by Chavez supporters waving pictures of the famed union leader, marched through downtown El Paso to a migrant farm worker center near the Mexican border. The group, which caused brief traffic congestion, was escorted by dozens of police officers on bicycles and motorcycles. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers, along with other federal agents, stood nearby. Because they are stupid... I have made this claim 100s of times and i dont have a problem with a guest worker program... What i mean by that is, you are right if they want to stay shouldnt they show US flags and try to show alliagence to the US, why the hell woud you do that?! I do however blame it on ignorance and lack of education, if people knew a little bit better what they where doing then things would be different....

This is the example of examples we have been arguing over for quite some time.... The blatant disregard for the US by legals and illegals alike. If one could only step out of the box and read a thing or two about the behavior...we might actually see the masses we have absorbed who have no intention of assimilating or becoming true Americans. Their pledge and allegiance is to Mexico. Beyond the point that these are children joining the march...does that tell anyone the teachings and etc. coming from their homes, families, friends? The best example we could have set, would have been to capture and deport as many illegals converging as possible.

Did anyone bother to read the dates of these? No I didn't think so. This was over 2 years ago in hopes of the reform bill passing. Talk about reaching to incite a reaction.

It is sad... Ceaser Chavez fought the illegal aliens most of the time he ran the United Farm Workers.

they can not get the same social programs back there what should have been done and will be shortly as the economy gets worse and the states get tired of footing the bill for citizens not our own, is for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials to get a line of buses when these protests take place and bus them across the border after they sterlize them

As a fellow Mexican, I totally agree with your argument about waving Mexican flags. But, you have to understand these are high school kids without life experience. I agree that every immigrant should wave the U.S flag with dignity, but NOt wave your born country flag in an immigration rally. But please don't get to the point of Generalizing an ethnic Group. Thats the last place anyone wants to be, if they want to be taken seriously.
