Sun Bowl matchup: worth watching? (Notre Dame, IN vs. Miami)? Dec. 31, 2 p.m. EST?
Here's how the South Bend, INDIANA CBS affiliate has posted the bowl invitation story = Notre Dame and Miami will meet in the Sun Bowl, Dec. 31 in El Paso, Texas, selection committee chairman John H. Folmer announced Sunday afternoon. The game will be played at 2 p.m. ET at Sun Bowl Stadium and will be televised on CBS. Both teams will be making their first appearances in the Sun Bowl. “After a great game last year, who would have thought that we could have two great football schools like Notre Dame and Miami in the Hyundai Sun Bowl,” Folmer said in a statement. “After waiting 77 years, the stars have finally lined up for us. I have spent 40 years as a volunteer and I would have never thought I would see the day that Notre Dame and Miami would play in the Sun Bowl.” The Sun Bowl will be the 24th meeting between the two schools, but first since 1990. Notre Dame leads the all-time series 15-7-1. It will be the first-ever bowl game matchup between the two teams. “We are thrilled about getting Notre Dame back to a bowl game, especially one with tradition like the Hyundai Sun Bowl,” said Irish head coach Brian Kelly in a statement. “Following our victory at USC, we internally targeted the Sun Bowl as a great game for us because of the national exposure the game receives and the top-notch opponent we will face in Miami. This game will serve as a perfect prelude to the three-game series we’ll experience in the coming years. We look forward to the great reception our school will receive in El Paso and experiencing the hospitality that has been a trademark of the Sun Bowl.” Notre Dame and Miami were set to renew their “Catholics vs. Convicts” rivalry in 2012 at Soldier Field in Chicago, but now it will come sooner. “The University of Notre Dame is proud to accept the offer from the Sun Bowl Committee and we eagerly anticipate our travels to El Paso,” said Jack Swarbrick, Notre Dame director of athletics, in a statement. “This bowl is rich in tradition and we look forward to contributing to it this year. Our fans will enjoy El Paso and our University is excited to immerse itself in the welcoming community. I want to congratulate Coach Kelly, our coaching staff and team, but especially our seniors on finishing the season in such a strong fashion to put us in position to play in this prestigious game.” Miami (7-5, 5-3 ACC) finished second in the Atlantic Coast Conference Coastal Division, and fired coach Randy Shannon after the season. Offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland will coach the Hurricanes in the Sun Bowl. “This is one of those situations where the history speaks for itself. We have two great programs that have incredible history and we are playing in the second oldest bowl on national television,” said Miami head coach Jeff Stoutland, in a statement. “The players will be excited. We’re playing Notre Dame, and these guys know the history behind them and the rivalry between these programs. This is their chance to be a part of one of the greatest rivalries in the game.”

Won't be a great game, but they have a lot of history between the two teams.

I'm gonna watch it, cause I'm a Notre Dame fan, but I doubt the ratings will be great.

Not worth my time watching. But then, I wouldn't waste time watching ND play if they had a perfect record, were playing in the national championship game against another team with a perfect season. I'm kinda like Hank Hill when it comes to Notre Dame: When he heard that ND had lost a bowl game on New Year's Day he remarked, "Well, no matter what else happens this year, it's gonna be a good one."

Seriously you write Notre Dame(IN) like we were going to confuse it with Notre Dame in Paris suddenly fielding a NCAA team or something? We all know what Notre Dame is, they only use that with Miami(OH) so people don't get confused just off the name(notice that even Miami of Florida is usually just called Miami). Anyway I think this is a joke for the Sun Bowl, 77 years old and used to be a really Proud game. Now they are just taking two teams off their name and not off of a great seasons. I hope the weather is better then the one Pitt played in though.

As a huge ND fan i will be watching. ND needs to get their sh!t together and start making bigger Bowls

What do you think about what is happening to and in the U.S. Army?

What do you think about what is happening to and in the U.S. Army?
Activity by gangs in military is increasing By Daniel Borunda / El Paso Times Article Launched: 03/31/2007 12:00:00 AM MDT The infiltration of gangs into the U.S. military is not only a growing concern in El Paso but is also considered a potential threat to national security and law enforcement. Weapon thefts, homicides and even the appearance of U.S. street-gang graffiti on military equipment in Iraq are among crimes featured in a National Gang Intelligence Center report on gangs in the military. The report mentions Fort Bliss. The issue of gang members in the military was raised Friday by El Paso County Attorney José Rodríguez at a gang investigators seminar at Burges High School. "We still have a gang problem here in El Paso (even if) it is not as serious as L.A. or San Antonio," said Rodríguez, whose office was behind the city's civil injunction that targeted the Barrio Azteca gang. Since 2004, the FBI and El Paso Police Department have identified more than 40 suspected military-affiliated members of the Folk Nation gang alliance stationed at Fort Bliss, stated the Jan. 12 report by the National Gang Intelligence Center. "As far as gangs Advertisement in the military, they do have gangs in the military. As far as Fort Bliss is concerned, we are trying to identify gang members in Fort Bliss," said Sgt. Reginald Moton of the El Paso Police Gang Unit. A Fort Bliss spokeswoman referred questions to the Army Criminal Investigations Division in Washington, D.C., which could not be reached for comment late Friday. According to police figures, 492 active street gangs, party crews and other groups in El Paso have 4,657 members. The national intelligence center report, titled "Gang-Related Activity in the U.S. Armed Forces Increasing," lists a homicide that El Paso police gang investigators said on Friday could have links to the Chicago-based Folk Nation. In December 2004, Jamal Ra shad Davis allegedly shot and killed 19-year-old Jurell Battles during a fight in Northeast El Paso. Davis, now 23, was a Fort Bliss Army private with the 286th Signal Company of the 11th Air Defense Artillery Brigade. Investigators suspect Davis may also had ties to the Folk Nation. Davis' trial is pending. The Folk Nation is described as an alliance of gangs, though the group, according to member blogs, describes itself as a family dedicated to the improvement of its members. The intelligence center report, which is labeled "unclassified/law-enforcement sensitive," mentions that members of rival gangs often put aside differences while in the military. "Rival gang members stationed at Fort Bliss, for instance, have joined forces to commit assaults on civilian gang members," the document stated. The report also states that some gang members join the military to escape the gang lifestyle but others keep gang connections intact. "The extent of gang presence in the armed services is often difficult to determine, since many enlisted gang members conceal their gang affiliation. ... The military enlistment of gang members could ultimately lead to a worldwide expansion of U.S.-based gangs," the document warned. The report also cautioned that military-dependent children may be targeted by gangs for membership because "the transient nature of their families often makes them feel isolated, vulnerable and in need of companionship." The influx of 20,000 new soldiers and their families to Fort Bliss in the coming years has local law enforcement watching for potential problems. Some of the new soldiers are transfers from Fort Hood, Texas. El Paso police sent investigators to Killeen because it had seen problems with military-affiliated gangs from Fort Hood. In 2005, the Temple Daily Telegram reported of a trial of an Army sergeant stationed at Fort Hood who was the reputed leader of the Gangsters Disciples Killeen chapter that was involved in armed robberies, drug dealings and identity theft. The Gangsters Disciples are part of the Folk Nation. The huge number of new arrivals has El Paso authorities keeping watch for any potential problems. "Obviously with all the troops coming in, the FBI has been collecting intelligence with what kind of gang activity may be coming in with those troops. We want to be prepared," said El Paso FBI office spokeswoman Special Agent Andrea Simmons. "With the numbers of people coming to El Paso affiliated with Fort Bliss -- not just soldiers but dependents and new businesses -- with any group you will have a few folks who will be of the criminal mind-set," Simmons said. It has steadily gotten worse and will continue to get worse for as long as the people of this country continue to except the failed ideology of multiculturalism and political correctness.

Like the police say: "Our gang is bigger than your gang." This same problem existed back when I was in the Navy 1975-1979. I see it as a problem with the volunteer military, we do need the draft. AND we need an American Foreign Legion!
3 :
Yes, keep in mind the people in the army are human and are just like everyone in the civilian world. I am sure tehre are gangs in some places, wouldnt surprise me the elast bit. I am in the army and no one I have ever heard or seen is in one. Dont think for a second that the army is the new East LA.

"big hype" story -- makes for great splashy headline. i live in texas, and let me say that Folk Nation is about as dangerous as the easter bunny. they are not drug-dealing thug bangers like the border mafia crews. these are just young guys looking to sport some tats and act tough. most of these army "gangs" are remnants of social crews constituted of lower-class homeys with low-to-average IQs. hardly a threat. the army can nip this so-called problem in the bud very quickly.

We get stories like this every year. In the end they are all noise but no substance.

Can you transfer schools in the middle of a semseter?

You have to wait until the new semester starts. College isn't like high school; you can't just jump into a class in the middle, even if you started a similar class somewhere else. You'll just end up failing the class you left and still having to pay for it, and having to wait until the next semester to start at the other school.

I am moving soon and struggling with the idea of change. CALI- TEXAS?
So i have lived here in Cali for the past 16 years, went to middle school. high school, and just finished college...I have the opportunity to go and live in Texas with my Brother in El Paso, rent free and hopefully finding a good job. I was only staying here in Cali because of school, and now I have nothing really holding me back...I am just faced with the "what ifs" and the "should I's" I have a cute place here but My job isn't going to pay me for having my degree...I do wanna venture out and experience new things, but i need some motivation, seems my own is running low...I also applied for the university of Texas in hopes of getting into school, that's one reason i would go. and the other is My oldest brother is there. haven't spent much time with him in a long time. Blood is thicker than water is what people keep telling me. Help guys....advice, stories of your own...what should I DO!? Also, living in Texas is gonna be ( no ocean, hot, different), and I dunno:( this is hard........but im trying to keep the mindset that life goes on, its good to be open to new things and try new stuff...when the opportunity comes.

well i live in texas and as much as i say i hate living here (heat.. !! wow), it's my home. I'm sure cali feels the same for you too. :) My brother lived with us for awhile and then moved to California. Actually I was thinking about going to cali for college, but im deciding to stay here in good old texas. But just in case you feel like you want to live in Texas, here are some pro's. : its alot cheaper than california, wildlife, the people are very nice and generous, and even though there might not be as much to do as in cali, texas's cities are packed and alot of fun to be in. I also have struggled somewhat with deciding where I wanted to live, but for now, Texas is my home. I hope what you decide makes you happy, and you could always visit :)
2 :
Not quite sure what you're saying - - You say you've graduated from college and want to go to U of Texas -- I assume for a Masters -- so would you live and work in El Paso with your brother or go to school in Austin? Frankly I think you'd hate El Paso after coming from the things you enjoy about CA, but you might actually like Austin. No, there still wouldn't be a beach, but it is a fun city, and you could always go to Galveston or South Padre Island. I say move to Texas, spend some time with your brother until you go back to school. CA isn't going anywhere - - you can always go back.

2 :
Brooks Institute is a noted (and notably expensive) school but the students that come from there are generally well adapted for the arts and quite capable of succeeding in the field of photography. ... then again, so are those that complete the courses with NYIP at a fraction of the cost. I guess it's relative to what you put into it. .

Please help me, My heart is hurting....No this isnt a 'break up' either....?

Please help me, My heart is hurting....No this isnt a 'break up' either....?
This might be alot...but I REALLY appreciate it if you read and answer 4th Grade So i moved to Texas 5 years ago, and i was in the 4th grad, i met this boy and i became best friends with him. all the girls hated me, and the guys called me ugly and i was tease because i talked proper, and some of the kids felt as if i "wanted to be white" because of my California(from CA) grammar (laughing at that) anyway, he was like my only friend. he had a crush on me but i didnt like him like that. I guess cus i wasnt even happy with myself. then he told me, that towards the end of the year he moves to go with his Dad, and a different school out there in El Paso(Texas) and he said that would happen EVERY year. So i believed it. 5th Grade So in fifth grade he came back, and as always i knew he would leave towards the end of the school year. then we saw each other again, and we were friends. He used to draw me pictures of puppies, because i guess he still had a crush on me. but then later in the year i think he kinda gave up on the crush but we were still really close 5th Grade yeah...i had to repeat the fifth grade (which doesnt matter cus i started school early anyway) but anyway i changed schools, so i was bummed i didnt get to see him anymore, then in the 2nd week of school, HE JOINED MY CLASS. I was soo excited, and so was he and everyone at that school was shocked we knew each other. he then promised me, we would be together (as friends) until college or longer. i believed him and sealed that promise with my heart. i gave him his favorite toy a finger skate boared (remember elementary school) as a gift. then he left agan later that school year. 6th grade. they divided our classes into 'Teams' so i barley saw him, but we still hung out and were close. 7th grade. Now we were in Jr. High... he was older and so was I. I realized, i REALLY REALLY did like this boy the whole time. like alot. and I wasnt even sure he went to my Jr. High until he ran behind me and hugged me out of surprised! i was soo excited to see him! he always waved to me and talked to me when he got a chance, every time my lunch began, his ended. and he would say by i guess. but i barley saw him in Jr. high because the classes were so divided and the bell schedules were different. WELL.... one day, i was outside at lunch waiting for him to come by and talk to me,and he wasnt there... soo i was like "ok maybe he is absent" next day, i waited...."not there" a week went by and he wasnt there. I didnt know what to expect or think...this was WAYYY too early for him to leave and move with his Dad. and he didnt tell me "bye" sooo i decided to ask a few members of his Class where he was? and they said..."HE MOVED" i was like ???!?!?@#?$%?^?&*? ok?? why the sudden change, soo i went through a tough 7th grade year. but i had other friends....and they had drama etc... stuff i cant get into right now. But anyway..it was just too sudden for me. 8th grade(my last completed grade level) I was excited that year, i knew i would go to high school next year, and i knew id see "my friend" agan, well....he wasnt there this time. it hurt. I never let him go or gave up on him though. i looked on myspace and facebook ...couldnt come in contact with my BFF. so man.....i just felt like "man, i guess im never gonna see him agan, i gottaa stop wearing myself out on this" and i did. This Summer. Sooo im sittin on Facebook next thing you know, i get a friend request. "OH MY GOODNESS??!!!" and i started cryin out of joy yup. it was him. He added me, it had been nearly 3 years since i seen him (2008) there he was my real, first best friend, in Texas. He added, me, and thats all he did... he didnt even message me? so i messeged him you know i was like "HEY!! omg So&So! i missed you soooo much etc etc etc ect blah blah blah, heres my number give me yours" soo he responds talkin to me, like a "wannabe gangsta" i was really like "WTF" i didnt say that...i was jsut like, yeah!! Can i call you. he told me i couldnt cus he was helpin his uncle. .......... i tried callin him later, he didnt answer. Now his phone is off (out of service). I added him on my myspace. he had me on his top. then moved me lower, then took me OFF. then put me back. Then took me off, AND ITS STILL LIKE THAT? im like WTFFFF?? then he sends me a message sayin "Wait... wut skool we used 2 go 2 2qetha again?" i listed them all, with a "you dont remember" at the end. and he never responded. ive been trying to get "over" this but its bothering me and i need ed to get this off my chest. i wont cry over no boy. but i do love him. but iarrogantder what happen to my friend. he is arrrogant, now...and he has the trash of our Jr. High on his top in MY pla the last part is, he is acting arrogant, and like a 'tool' and has the school Trash(promiscuous girls, from or old Jr. high) on his top, in MY place. im just freakin out... thanks Corry, love you!

U know I had a friend who I was close with. I moved backed to the states and a few months later she moved to to the states too. I had a crush on her and we would talk. Then one day she just stopped talking to me. We live in different, states. so its not like I can go up 2 her and ask "Hey what's going on?" She's on my myspace but she never responds to me. Its strange cuz her brother still talks to me. Her dad was recently murdered too. Its been almost a whole year. This must be very hard for you, but know that everybody changes. Tell him how you feel and how much he means to you. Pray to God about.

How did you mail it? First class, express, priority, overnight? Probably three to five days to get there.
2 :
Hi, Transcripts are just papers, very light and if not mailed in a normal envelope, is maild through the bigger envelopes. Both are mostly sent with First Class PostStamps- if sent with USPS-United States Postal. But if you sent if using FedEx/UPS or any other mailing service, its as fast as what you chose and paid for. But back to First Class Mail via USPS, 2 1/2 weeks Max, 1 week Min. But if it was sent through Priority Mail- 1 1/2 weeks Max, 4 day Min. to arrive. hope they get it soon. and hope it doesn't get lost in transaction.

Please help with 4 questions about this poem?

Please help with 4 questions about this poem?
Dear Fellow Writer, A blank piece of paper can be exciting and intimidating . Probably every writer knows both reactions well. I know I do. I wanted to include a letter to you in this book because I wish I could talk to you individually. I’d say: Listen to your inside self, your private voice. Respect your thoughts and feelings and ideas. You—yes, you—play with sounds. With language(s), explore the wonder of being alive. Living hurts, so sometimes we write about a miserable date, a friend who betrayed us, the death of a parent. Some days, though, we’re so full of joy we feel like a kite. We can fly! Whether we write for ourselves or to share our words, we discover ourselves when we truly write: when we dive below the surface. It’s never easy to really reveal ourselves in school, but remember that writing is practice. Without practice, you will never learn to hear and sing your own unique song. I have always been a reader, which is the best preparation for becoming a writer. When I was in grade school in El Paso, Texas (where I was born), I read comic books and mysteries and magazines and library books. I was soaking up language. I’ve always liked to write, too—but I was a mother before I began to create regular time for my writing. Was it that I didn’t think that I had anything important to say? Was it that I didn’t believe that I could say anything that well? Was it that when I was in school we never studied a writer who was like me—bilingual , a Mexican American—and so somehow I decided that “people like me” couldn’t be writers? I have a large poster of an American Indian storyteller right above my desk. Children are climbing all over her, just as my sisters and my brother and I climbed over nuestra tía, our aunt, Ignacia Delgado, the aunt we called Lobo. She was our storyteller. Who is yours? Would you like to be a storyteller? Would you like to write or paint or draw or sing your stories? I became a writer because words give me so much pleasure that I have always wanted to sink my hands and heart into them, to see what I can create, what will rise up, what will appear on the page. I’ve learned that some writers are quiet and shy, others noisy, others just plain obnoxious. Some like enchiladas and others like sushi; some like rap and others like rancheras. 1 Some write quickly, and some are as slow as an elderly man struggling up a steep hill on a windy day. I’ll tell you a few of our secrets. The first is that we all read. Some of us like mysteries and some of us like memoirs, but writers are readers. We’re curious to see what others are doing with words, but—what is more important—we like what happens to us when we open a book, how we journey into the pages. Another secret is that we write often. We don’t just talk about writing. We sit by ourselves inside or outside, writing at airports or on kitchen tables, even on napkins. We’re usually nosy and very good at eavesdropping . Just ask my three children! And writers are collectors. We collect facts and phrases and stories: the names of cacti,2 the word for cheese in many languages. In the last twenty years, I’ve spent more and more time writing my own books for children and adults. I have received many rejections and will probably receive many more, darn it. I just keep writing—and revising. Revising is now one of my favorite parts of being a writer, though I didn’t always feel that way. I enjoy taking what I’ve written—a picture or a book or a poem—and trying to make the writing better, by changing words or rhythm. Sometimes by starting over! Writing is my way of knowing myself better, of hearing myself, of discovering what is important to me and what makes me sad, what makes me different, what makes me me—of discovering my own true name. And writing makes me less lonely. I have all these words in English and Spanish whispering or sometimes shouting at me, just waiting for me to put them to work, to combine them so that they leap over mountains on small hooves or slip down to the sandy bottom of the silent sea. And you? Maybe these poems—taken from my collections Chants, Borders, and Communion, along with some new poems written for this book, for you—will tempt you to write your own poems about a special person or a special place, about a gray fear or a green hope. What are your blooms, your thorns, your roots? Remember, my friend, never speak badly of your writing. Never make fun of it. Bring your inside voice out and let us hear you on the page. Come, join the serious and sassy family of writers. 1.What is the most interesting idea about writing Mora expresses? Support your explanation. 2.Does Mora think it is easy or difficult for most students to reveal their thoughts and feelings in papers written as school assignments? Texas Driver's License Updating the Address?

Texas Driver's License Updating the Address?
I have a valid Texas Driver's license but it has my old address that i moved from on it (an El Paso address). Now i just moved to Austin for school and I was wondering is it necessary to update to this Austin Address?? I only ask because its probably not likely that I will stay at the same address a year from now. And that same thing may occur another year after that. Will I still have to update with Every move???

Texas requires that you make the change. I believe the grace period is three months. When I got mine changed recently, it only costs ten dollars if that's any consolation.
2 :
You are required to notify the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) of an address change within 30 days. You can change your address using any of the options below: * Online, you must meet the following criteria. 37 Texas Administrative Code 15.59, Texas Transportation Code 521.274. * Download the DL-64 Change of Address; or * Obtain the DL-64 application from several public places (i.e. post office) or any Texas driver license office; or * You may e-mail customer service and request the form to be sent to you. Please include your name, Texas driver license number, and the address to where the form is to be mailed; or * You can apply in person at any Texas Driver License office.

You could try babysitting, in the summertime : yard work like mowing lawns, and watering flowers or walking dogs. In the winter time, try putting up flyers for shoveling snow or spreading ice melt. Just odd jobs like that, especially to retired couples, they usually love the help!
2 :
Its hard to get a job now a days, especially under 16-18, and I don't know the law in Texas but in California you can't get a job until you are 16. HOWEVER; there are ways around that, and I have a friend who started his own car wash/detailing business at 15 and he made bank and even hired in some of his friends. I understand your anxious to get a job and money trust me as soon as I got my license I went applying for jobs, but you may want to start off with the little jobs such as a car wash or lawn service?? Dog walking? Babysitting/nanny? (my sister makes 400/month babysitting 4 days a week after school)
3 :
Don't let it get you down, but its very hard to get a regular job at 14. Employers don't want to hirer someone with restrictions. I'd ask every fastfood place how young do they hire. Only problem very few hire under 16, but don't take my word for it you should defiantly ask first. Your best bet is babysitting or a paper route, or volunteering. The more volunteer experience you have the better your chances of getting a job when your older.

I saw my soulmate for a few seconds, and I hope I didn't loose her forever?

I saw my soulmate for a few seconds, and I hope I didn't loose her forever?
Help me please. I was a staff member on a school field trip from El Paso, Texas, to Albuquerque, New Mexico and we stopped at the University of New Mexico cafeteria for lunch. It was the strangest encounter because one of the university student and I locked in a stare at each other for about 30 second and I new she was the "ONE" I have been searching for over millions of different lives. I am now back in El Paso but I hope I didn't loose her forever. I want to drive back 300 miles to find her. It was love at first sight. You should have seen the look on her face. Any advice? The strangest thing was she didn't have a body like a super model. The stare in the eyes was the deepest connection I ever felt and I felt that my search was over.

if you lost her forever she is not your soulmate.
2 :
Wow.. go find her. I understand. Ha.. as lame as it sounds, a similar situation happened to me. Something happened and i freaked out. But i did manage to talk to him for about a minute. I started walking away and he said 'nice to meet you' It was the craziest thing. I was mad after because i let him go. But i can't fly back to LA. I figure if it is meant to be.. then it's meant to be.
3 :
Hmm. There's a lot of things wrong with this situation.. && why's it strange that she didn't "have the body of a supermodel"?
4 :
Drive back and find her. If you don't you will always regret it

wow thats exactly like the lyrics of "You're Beautiful" by james blunt My life is brilliant. My life is brilliant. My love is pure. I saw an angel. Of that I'm sure. She smiled at me on the subway. She was with another man. But I won't lose no sleep on that, 'Cause I've got a plan. You're beautiful. You're beautiful. You're beautiful, it's true. I saw your face in a crowded place, And I don't know what to do, 'Cause I'll never be with you. Yeah, she caught my eye, As we walked on by. She could see from my face that I was, Flying high, [ - video/radio edited version] Fucking high, [ - CD version] And I don't think that I'll see her again, But we shared a moment that will last till the end. You're beautiful. You're beautiful. You're beautiful, it's true. I saw your face in a crowded place, And I don't know what to do, 'Cause I'll never be with you. You're beautiful. You're beautiful. You're beautiful, it's true. There must be an angel with a smile on her face, When she thought up that I should be with you. But it's time to face the truth, I will never be with you.
6 :
Something like "love at first sight" isn't real. You don't even know her. She could be mean, she could have a boyfriend, or she could be a crazy person. Don't get your hopes up. You've lost her forever anyways, so it doesn't matter.
7 :
I know exactly what you are talking about! The only problem is: if you don't find her, she was not meant to be your Soulmate in this lifetime. My wish for you ist that you do find her soon. You are also right when you say, she did not have 'super model body'. It is what is inside, the heart and soul, that is important. Good luck!
8 :
well that is cute but if it is meant to be then you WILL see her again
9 :
Go on, go! Don't let them tell you that she can't be your soul mate because nothing happened....go get her...can't lose her then. How exciting, make sure you let us know what happens.

What should I do if my school is not NAACLS approved to pursue being an MLT/MT for the ASCP certification?

What should I do if my school is not NAACLS approved to pursue being an MLT/MT for the ASCP certification?
I currenlty go to Sul Ross State University as a freshmen. I'm going to graduate from this school with a Bachelor's in Biology. I'm still not 100% sure what I'm going to do, for sure I want to work in the medical field. Preferably something I can persue directly after I graduate and not have to go to medical school. I'm more than likely going to live in the El Paso area here in Texas once I'm done with school, and so far that I know of (according to the internet) an ASCP certification is better to get than an AMT certification? How can I become an MLT the quickest without transfering schools? Any other careers I can look into with just a Bachelors in Biology that is in demand? Key ---------- NAACLS - National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences MLT - Medical Lab Technician MT - Medical Technician AMT - American Medical Technologists ASCP - American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification Sites I've Looked Into: ------------------------------ http://www.laboratorytechnician.org/education-and-certification

Go with the ASCP certification. Go to ASCP.org. I can't think of any biology careers that would be as in demand as the MLT. Usually schools like your current one are set up to have you take two years of pre req courses so you can just transfer to a NAACLS accredited school. I would then move to Galveston to finish your bachelors degree in MT... if I were you i think it'll be worth it and then move back to El Paso.

Please help me, My heart is hurting....No this isnt a 'break up' either....?

Please help me, My heart is hurting....No this isnt a 'break up' either....?
This might be alot...but I REALLY appreciate it if you read nad answer 4th Grade So i moved to Texas 5 years ago, and i was in the 4th grad, i met this boy and i became best friends with him. all the girls hated me, and the guys called me ugly and i was tease because i talked proper, and some of the kids felt as if i "wanted to be white" because of my California(from CA) grammar (laughing at that) anyway, he was like my only friend. he had a crush on me but i didnt like him like that. High on his top in MY pla urgh that stupid spell check messed up my last part... the last part is, he is acting arrogant, and like a 'tool' and has the school Trash(promiscuous girls, from or old Jr. high) on his top, in MY place. im just freakin out...

Well, people change. You can't expect someone to remain the same person forever you know.
2 :
I know exactly how you feel. When i was in 6th grade my best guy friend liked me, but i just didn't like him like that. All of his daily phone calls stopped and he soon stopped talking to me all together. I'm not really sure why, i suppose he was angry at me for not liking him back. Over my middle school years he completely left me in the dirt and made new friends. It was SO SO SO hard for me to understand. All said and done i finally fell for him a year later and it was too late. I guess what I'm trying to say is people change and sometimes It's not for the better. I'm sorry you had to experience it like this. It's really hard to lose touch with someone who was apart of you. I got my feelings out by telling him how i truly felt about him and how we don't talk anymore, maybe try that? But never forget the memories you had, because at one point in time it did make it all worth while and made you happy. Sorry it was so long :/ I've never had anybody who related to me so much on a topic like this.
3 :
You cant expect people to ever stay the same. People change. Make new friends. Forget him.
4 :
OMG..!! how could you type as long questions
5 :
This is all really, really immature. Just because a guy was your child hood friend doesn't mean he wants anything to do with you now, which it sounds like he doesn't. So you're going into 8th grade? You are still so young, you need to grow up and realize that you can't be worried about what a little boy is doing that you hardly know anymore. He has the "trash" on his top something? Well, if you hang with trash, YOU ARE TRASH. That is what he thinks is cool so that is what he chooses. I would move on!
6 :
Sorry hun. People change. It hurts, by you just have to learn to move on. I'm sure you will meet another great guy. :)
7 :
Wow i'm sorry that that happened to you. I know how you feel because guys act like that with me too. They're hot and their cold, their yes and their no, their in and out, up and down. You catch my drift? Sounds to me like he's changed and probably has become arrogant because he's going to high school trying to be cocky. He could act like he's your bff today and diss you the next day. Don't let them get to you, boys act like that, but don't let it get the best of you. Perhaps calling him out on how he's acting, "why are you acting like you don't know me anymore?". Hope he stops acting like a jerk and starts being your friend again. If he continues to act this way, there's nothing wrong with letting him go and moving on. True friend would stick beside you to the end.

That was one of the most boring-est thing ive read on here.
