I have a valid Texas Driver's license but it has my old address that i moved from on it (an El Paso address). Now i just moved to Austin for school and I was wondering is it necessary to update to this Austin Address?? I only ask because its probably not likely that I will stay at the same address a year from now. And that same thing may occur another year after that. Will I still have to update with Every move???

Texas requires that you make the change. I believe the grace period is three months. When I got mine changed recently, it only costs ten dollars if that's any consolation.

You are required to notify the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) of an address change within 30 days. You can change your address using any of the options below: * Online, you must meet the following criteria. 37 Texas Administrative Code 15.59, Texas Transportation Code 521.274. * Download the DL-64 Change of Address; or * Obtain the DL-64 application from several public places (i.e. post office) or any Texas driver license office; or * You may e-mail customer service and request the form to be sent to you. Please include your name, Texas driver license number, and the address to where the form is to be mailed; or * You can apply in person at any Texas Driver License office.
