Marine Biologists needed to help complete survey for my Engineering course?
Marine Biologist Survey Questions Hello, my name is Joshua Anklam and I’m currently a senior at Pre-Engineering Magnet Program at Captain John L. Chapin High School in El Paso, Texas. Currently, in my Engineering Design and Development class, I’m aiming at redesigning bottom trawling methods to reduce the negative impacts seen on the marine ecosystems. The survey will aid in my assessment of bottom trawling and determine the public’s standpoint on this important issue. 1.How often do you use trawling methods? a)Very Often b)Often c)Scarcely d)Never 2.How often to you use bottom trawling methods? a)Very Often b)Often c)Scarcely d)Never 3.Do you believe bottom trawling is a destructive method? If so please continue with the survey. a)Yes b)No 4.Do you believe that there are safer practices? If so explain. a)Yes: ______________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________ b)No 4. Is there enough being done to either limit the practice or modify the trawling design? a)Yes b)No 5. What effects do you think bottom trawling has on the environment? ___________________________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________________________ Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey

C D A Yes: angling, bait casting, ring nets, and free divers* No Bottom trawling is pretty obviously desastrous to the environment, indiscriminantly eliminating vast tracks of ecosystems with little to gain You never asked what we use these procedures for. I for instance would use them for sample collection and would throw back unwanted specimens while still alive A commercial mackeral fisherman wouldn't be nearly as specific or small scale... * the only concession is that the divers don't use cyanide or ms222 or other drugs when they die
