I'm interested in practicing medicine and perhaps writing on the side. GPA= above 4.0 (#2 in my class) I'd like a small-mid-size school where I'm not just a number. Preferably not private. Dorms without community restrooms. Volleyball team. 0-5 hrs. from El Paso, TX (but others are ok) Will get me into a top-notch med-school. So far, I'm thinking Texas Tech or Arizona State.

You should search on Collegeboard.com. You can specify what you want and it'll search every accredited college and university in the country. I wanted a tiny school in a certain part of the country, and I ended up at this place that barely anyone has heard of (and it's perfect for me). It was a great resource for me, and I bet it'll help to check it out. :) Good luck!!

Given the geography, you are limited. However, also consider the University of Arizona, though I do not know about its restrooms or volleyball team. It is a more prestigious school than the two you list.
