So i have lived here in Cali for the past 16 years, went to middle school. high school, and just finished college...I have the opportunity to go and live in Texas with my Brother in El Paso, rent free and hopefully finding a good job. I was only staying here in Cali because of school, and now I have nothing really holding me back...I am just faced with the "what ifs" and the "should I's" I have a cute place here but My job isn't going to pay me for having my degree...I do wanna venture out and experience new things, but i need some motivation, seems my own is running low...I also applied for the university of Texas in hopes of getting into school, that's one reason i would go. and the other is My oldest brother is there. haven't spent much time with him in a long time. Blood is thicker than water is what people keep telling me. Help guys....advice, stories of your own...what should I DO!? Also, living in Texas is gonna be ( no ocean, hot, different), and I dunno:( this is hard........but im trying to keep the mindset that life goes on, its good to be open to new things and try new stuff...when the opportunity comes.

well i live in texas and as much as i say i hate living here (heat.. !! wow), it's my home. I'm sure cali feels the same for you too. :) My brother lived with us for awhile and then moved to California. Actually I was thinking about going to cali for college, but im deciding to stay here in good old texas. But just in case you feel like you want to live in Texas, here are some pro's. : its alot cheaper than california, wildlife, the people are very nice and generous, and even though there might not be as much to do as in cali, texas's cities are packed and alot of fun to be in. I also have struggled somewhat with deciding where I wanted to live, but for now, Texas is my home. I hope what you decide makes you happy, and you could always visit :)

Not quite sure what you're saying - - You say you've graduated from college and want to go to U of Texas -- I assume for a Masters -- so would you live and work in El Paso with your brother or go to school in Austin? Frankly I think you'd hate El Paso after coming from the things you enjoy about CA, but you might actually like Austin. No, there still wouldn't be a beach, but it is a fun city, and you could always go to Galveston or South Padre Island. I say move to Texas, spend some time with your brother until you go back to school. CA isn't going anywhere - - you can always go back.
